This project began in Xinjiang, China in 2000.

It is a diary of my life. A classic blog except that it is visual.

It started with a little Rollei camera – which I loved – sadly stolen in a hold-up, at knifepoint, in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. But that is a whole other story which includes being rescued by my hero wielding a baguette.

I have rolls of negs, and notes from these times which one day I will go through, scan and post.

Digital replaced film.

I don't like my Lumix half as much as that little Rollei but this project is not about quality of images but rather about time and place, and sadly it is cheaper, quicker and easier to catalog with digital.

There are gaps. Stolen camera, broken cameras, lost cameras and just days when I forgot / was asleep / couldn't be bothered.

It works as a diary though.

I remember lots of these moments and the days surrounding them.
